This past September Buffalo Media Group made our way back up to Alaska Rainbow Lodge outside of King Salmon, Alaska to cover footage of the monster rainbow trout run. Nothing quite compares to tracking down these 30” monsters! We were fortunate enough to team up with Taylor Fly Fishing and represent some of their fine products in the shoot. We used their Anomaly rod which was a perfect 9’ 8 wt. balance for handling the ever aggressive ‘bows. The Anomaly rod paired great with their 7WT-9WT Revolt reel in the beautiful Champagne color. Super stoked about this setup…perfect for Alaskan waters where you can catch anything from chum salmon, dolly varden, huge grayling, lake trout, sockeye, and rainbows.
